Ryde City Council Skip Bin Policy
Ryde City coucil requires that all building waste containers or skips are to be located on private property at all times, wherever practicable. The placement of such containers on the footpath section of any roadway will only be permitted in exceptional circumstances where it is not possible to locate containers on private property. No permit will be issued for building waste containers or skips to be placed within the carriageway section of any public road or in any reserve at any time. Applications shoul be made to Ryde City and fees paid before approval in writing is granted for any waste container or skip to be placed on the footway section of any road.
Ryde City council also requires that all building waste containers or skips placed on the footway section of any road must have the name, address and telephone number of the supplier to be displayed clearly on the bskip bin and the bin be provided with lights or reflective strips so it is clearly visible day or night.
The applicant for permission to place a waste container or skip on the footway section of a road shall lodge payment with Council at the time of application in accordance with the following scale (as per June 2011):?
